Small Text Generator
Small caps, raised tiny letters, and lowered subscript for short names, bios, and messages.

Three ways to make small text
Small caps
Compact capital-shaped letters sit near the normal baseline. Both uppercase and lowercase Latin input use the same small-cap forms where mapped. Numbers stay full size.
Tiny text (superscript)
Raised letters give a tiny-text look. Supported Latin capitals become lowercase-style raised letters; all ten digits have raised forms. This is decorative text, not a mathematical expression parser.
Subscript
Supported lowercase letters and digits sit below the baseline. Uppercase letters stay as entered. For chemical formulas and numeric indices, use the dedicated subscript generator with its numbers-only mode.
Small letters and numbers compared
The same input can produce different sizes and baselines. These examples use the same mappings as the converter.
| Input | Small caps | Tiny text (superscript) | Subscript |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hello | ʜᴇʟʟᴏ | ʰᵉˡˡᵒ | Hₑₗₗₒ |
| alex | ᴀʟᴇx | ᵃˡᵉˣ | ₐₗₑₓ |
| 0123456789 | 0123456789 | ⁰¹²³⁴⁵⁶⁷⁸⁹ | ₀₁₂₃₄₅₆₇₈₉ |
| q x w y z | q x ᴡ ʏ ᴢ | q ˣ ʷ ʸ ᶻ | q ₓ w y z |
Why do some letters stay full size?
This converter uses a conservative set of Unicode characters, not a complete miniature alphabet. Small caps leave q and x unchanged; superscript leaves q unchanged. Subscript leaves b, c, d, f, g, q, w, y, z, and uppercase letters unchanged. These are this tool's mapping choices, not a claim that no other Unicode characters exist.
Accented letters, non-Latin scripts, emoji, spaces, and punctuation stay as entered. Unconverted letters and numbers appear below each result. The subscript result uses older characters; the dedicated subscript page also offers newer letters with a font-support warning.
Small-cap and raised-letter shapes come from several Unicode blocks, including Phonetic Extensions. Digits and many lowered letters are in Superscripts and Subscripts. The destination font determines their final appearance.
Small Unicode text is not a smaller font size
A small font generator like this changes the characters themselves. Copying preserves those characters, not a fixed pixel size or an installed font. For a whole paragraph in a document or on your own website, change the editor's font size or CSS instead. Use document formatting for superscript or subscript when you need a complete alphabet.
Before using tiny text in a profile
Will it work in Instagram, Discord, or a game?
Acceptance varies by app, device, and field. A bio or display name may accept characters that a username rejects. Test the exact destination before saving; boxes or missing letters usually mean the font or app cannot display that character.
Is small text suitable for important information?
Keep essential details in ordinary text. Small characters can be harder to read, and assistive technology may pronounce them differently. Use decorative small text sparingly and retain a plain-text version of your name or message.
